This Terms of Use Agreement (these “Terms of Use”) is a binding legal contract between you (“You” or “Your” only an individual ) and Rotary Calcutta Mahanagar Trust (“Bloodline plus”). These Terms of Use govern Your access to and use of the web sites, media, apps, in-app services and any other cloud services offered by Bloodline plus including without limitation any media, software, programs, services, tools, features, databases, Information, content, features, products, apps, in-app services, or information available or sold on or through it or used in connection with it (collectively, the “Services” and each a “Service”). By downloading, accessing or using any part of the Service You have accessed, You will be bound by these Terms of Use. If You do not agree to these Terms of Use, Bloodline plus is not willing to grant You any right to use or access the Service. In such event, You are not granted permission to access or otherwise use the Service and are instructed to exit the Service immediately.
Bloodline plus is an initiative by Rotary Calcutta Mahanagar Trust, Kolkata (Affiliated to Rotary), which is a non-profit organization. The service available on this mobile application is free for everyone and is supported by revenue collected from advertisements and/or donors, sponsors and patrons who support and/or sponsor the activities of Rotary Club of Calcutta Mahanagar and/or Rotary Calcutta Mahanagar Trust. Any person willing to sponsor our mobile application or any social work programme of the Rotary Calcutta Mahanagar can contact us. Bloodline plus is an initiative in the public interest by Rotary Calcutta Mahanagar Trust. Bloodline plus is not associated with or run by any blood bank.
NO AFFILIATIONS. Bloodline plus is not certified/registered under any provision of Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 and/or the Transplantation of Human Organs Act, 1994 and/or in affiliation with/registered under the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation. Bloodline plus is not certified/registered under any Regulatory affairs in the Indian blood banking system are controlled by central and provincial Drug Control authority under Drug Controller General of India. Bloodline plus is not endorsed by any Medical Officer or any person from the Medical Profession.
DEFINITION OF BLOOD. Blood is categorized as a ‘drug’ under Section 2 (b) of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 and include any amendment thereof. For the purpose of these terms and conditions, disclaimers and privacy policy, the word “Blood” wherever used shall also mean to include plasma or platelet or any other component or by-product as may be applicable, depending from case to case.
The Service You have accessed and all of its contents as a whole and in part are protected by and are owned or controlled by Bloodline plus, its affiliates and licensors. The Service is licensed to You, not sold. Except for the limited license granted in these Terms of Use, Bloodline plus and its licensors retain all right, title and interest in the Service and all proprietary rights in the Service, including without limitation copyrights, patents, trademarks, service marks and trade names.
Bloodline plus may change, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time. Bloodline plus, its suppliers and service providers reserve all rights not granted in these Terms of Use.
Limitations on Copying and Distribution - You may download or copy downloadable items displayed on the Service for personal, non-commercial use only, provided that You maintain and display all copyright, trademark and other notices contained therein.
You may use and access the Service solely for Your personal, non-commercial use. All use of the Service must be in accordance with these Terms of Use. You may not use, copy, store, reproduce, transmit, distribute, display, modify, alter, license, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service or any contents, information, data or Information provided through the Service in any manner not expressly permitted by these Terms of Use or the Service. You may not assign, sublicense, rent, timeshare, loan, lease or otherwise transfer the Service, or directly or indirectly permit any third party to use or copy any of the Services. You may not: (i) use any “deep link”, “page scrape”, “robot”, “spider”, or other automatic device, program, script, algorithm or methodology, or any similar or equivalent manual process, to access, acquire, copy, or monitor any portion of the Service or in any way reproduce or circumvent the navigational structure or presentation of the Service to obtain or attempt to obtain any Information, documents, or information through any means not purposefully made available through the Service; (ii) attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion or feature of the Service, including without limitation, the account of any other authorized user or any other systems or networks connected to the Service or to any server used by Bloodline plus or to any of the services offered on or through the Service, by hacking, password “mining” or any other illegitimate or prohibited means; (iii) probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service or any network connected to the Service, or breach the security or authentication measures on the Service, or any network connected to the Service; (iv) reverse look-up, trace, or seek to trace any information on any other authorized user of or visitor to the Service; (v) take any action that imposes an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on the infrastructure of the Service or systems or networks of Bloodline plus or networks connected to the Service; (vi) use any device, software, or routine to interfere with the proper working of the Service or any transaction being conducted on the Service, or with any other person’s use of the Service; (vii) use the Service to harvest or collect e-mail addresses or other contact information; (viii) market, co-brand, private label, separately distribute, resell or otherwise permit third parties to access and use the Service without the express, separate and prior written permission of Bloodline plus; (ix) create an intact reproduction of a page or pages of the Service into another service; or (x) use the Service in an unlawful manner or in a manner that could damage, disparage, or otherwise negatively impact Bloodline plus.
Non-Solicitation. You may not post or transmit through the Service any material which contains advertising or any solicitation with respect to products or services.
Limitations on Reverse Engineering and Modification. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, modify or create works derivative of the Service or any Information accessed through the Service.
Compliance with Applicable Law. You are solely responsible for ensuring Your use of the Service is in compliance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations.
User Obligations. By downloading, accessing, or using the Service in order to view or submit Information (as defined below) of any kind, You represent that You: (i) are at least eighteen (18) years of age and (ii) are not using another authorized user’s account without that person’s permission.
Your Submission Of Content. The Service may contain comment areas, questionnaires, tools, and other interactive features where you can share and display content, information, postings, materials, including without limitation, statements, photographs, video and other images (collectively “Information”). You are solely responsible for any Information you provide. By submitting Information to the Service, you warrant that you have all necessary rights to grant, and automatically grant to Bloodline plus and its affiliates, a royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive and fully sublicensable right (including any moral rights) and license to use, license, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, publicly display, publicly perform, translate, and distribute such Information (in whole or in part) and/or to incorporate them in other works in any form, media or technology now known or developed in the future. You also permit any other users of the Service to access, view, store or reproduce your Information and content for that user’s personal, non-commercial use. Bloodline plus will not be required to treat any Information as confidential, and you grant to Bloodline plus the right to edit, copy, display, publish and distribute any Information made available via the Service by you, without compensation to you or any other party submitting the Information for you. Notwithstanding the right and license, by merely permitting your Information to appear on the Service, Bloodline plus is not a publisher of such Information, and is merely functioning as an intermediary to enable you to provide and display Information. Moreover, and except as provided in these Terms of Use with respect to the right and ability of Bloodline plus to delete or remove Information, Bloodline plus does not endorse, oppose, or edit any opinion provided by you or any other user and does not make any representation with respect to, nor does it endorse the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or reliability of any Information displayed, uploaded, linked-to or distributed by you or any other user; you agree that by using the Service, you will not post or transmit any of the following:
anything that interferes with or disrupts the Service or its operation;
Information that are vulgar, obscene, indecent, profane, or otherwise objectionable or offensive, defamatory, libelous, unlawful, threatening, abusive, harassing, misleading, or false;
unauthorized copyrighted materials, or any other material that infringes on the intellectual property rights, rights of publicity or personality, trade secrets, confidentiality, or privacy of others;
Information that encourage criminal conduct or that would give rise to civil liability or otherwise violate any law or regulation in any jurisdiction;
Information that impersonate any other person or entity, whether actual or fictitious, or that misrepresent your affiliation with any entity; or
files that contain malicious code, viruses, corrupted files, or any other similar software or programs that may damage the operation of another’s mobile device, network, or the Service.
Other Terms And Conditions. Additional notices or terms and conditions may apply to receipt of services, participation in a particular program, sweepstakes, training, authorized user registration to other specific portions or features of the Service, all of which are made a part of these Terms of Use by this reference. If there is a conflict between these Terms of Use and the terms posted for or applicable to a specific portion of the Service, the latter terms shall control with respect to your use of that portion of the Service.
Links To This Service. You may link to the Service provided that you do so in a way that indicates that the link is direct to an Bloodline plus Service and is fair and not misleading.
Passwords and Security. Registration by you as an authorized user for access to certain areas of the Service may require both a user name and a password (“Authorized User Credentials”). you may also have to provide certain registration information, all of which must be accurate and updated. you are not allowed to share or give your Authorized User Credentials to anyone else. you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password.
Failure to comply with any Terms of Use, which may result in immediate suspension or termination of your Authorized User Credentials. Bloodline plus will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with these obligations. Bloodline plus reserves the right to delete or change Authorized User Credentials (with or without notice) at any time and for any reason.
Termination. These Terms of Use and your license to use the Service will take effect the moment you install, access, or use the Service and will be in effect until terminated as set forth below. This license will automatically terminate in the event you breach any of these terms. Termination will be effective without notice. You may terminate these Terms of Use at any time by ceasing to use the Service.
All applicable provisions of these Terms of Use as identified below will survive termination. Upon termination, you must destroy all copies of any aspect of the Service in your possession. The following will survive termination of these Terms of Use for any reason: (i) the General section below; (ii) the provisions concerning rights in your Information that you have granted to Bloodline plus; and (iii) Bloodline plus’s proprietary rights, indemnity, disclaimers of warranty, limitation of liability, and governing law.
Warranty Disclaimer. You expressly agree that use of the service is at your sole risk and you assume all risk. The service and its information, content, materials, products, services, and user content is provided on an “as available,” “as is” Basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bloodline plus and its licensors disclaim all warranties with respect to the service, including, but not limited to, the implied warranties of non-infringement, title, merchantability, quiet enjoyment, quality of information, fitness for a particular purpose, and results that may be obtained from use of the service. Bloodline plus does not warrant that the service will meet your requirements, or that the operation of the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that defects in the service will be corrected. You specifically acknowledge that Bloodline plus is not liable for the defamatory, offensive or illegal conduct of other users or third-parties and that the risk of injury from the foregoing rests entirely with you.
Other disclaimers. Content on the service is not intended to substitute for professional advice of any kind. In particular, nothing contained on the service is or should be considered, or used as a substitute for, medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, blood banks. Always seek the advice of your physician or other qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding personal health or medical conditions. Never disregard or avoid professional medical advice or delay in seeking it because of something you have read, heard or seen on the service.
Monitoring. Bloodline plus has the right, but not the obligation, to monitor the content of the Service (including any social or chat forum or tools, services or functions that enable the sharing, display or performance of any Material), to determine compliance with these Terms of Use and any operating rules established by Bloodline plus, and to satisfy any law, regulation or authorized government request. Bloodline plus has the right and sole discretion to edit, refuse to post, or to remove any Information submitted to or posted on or within the Service, including, without limitation, the right to remove any Information that Bloodline plus, in its sole discretion, finds to be in violation of the provisions hereof or otherwise objectionable.
Indemnification. You agree to indemnify, defend and hold Bloodline plus and its affiliates, members, trustees and agents harmless from and against any and all claims, actions, demands, damages, costs, liabilities, losses and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees and costs) arising out of your use of the Service.
Privacy Policy. You understand, acknowledge, and agree that the operation of certain programs, services, tools, purchase options, materials, or information in the Service requires the submission, use and dissemination of various personal identifying information. Accordingly, if you wish to access and use those programs, services, tools, materials, purchase options, or information of the Service, you acknowledge and agree that your use of the Service will constitute acceptance of the personal identifying information collection and use practices contained in the privacy policies posted on the Service.
General. These Terms of Use are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, as applied to agreements entered into and wholly performed within India. Any action or proceeding brought by you or Bloodline plus shall be brought only in a court of competent jurisdiction located in Kolkata, India and you and Bloodline plus agree to submit to personal jurisdiction of those courts for purposes of any action or proceeding.
These Terms of Use constitute the entire understanding and agreement between Bloodline plus and you with respect to the Service and any transactions contemplated in these Terms of Use, and supersede all prior or contemporaneous oral or written communications with respect to the subject matter of these Terms of Use, all of which are merged into these Terms of Use. You may not modify, amend or alter in any way these Terms of Use. In the event any provision of these Terms of Use are found to be invalid or unenforceable pursuant to judicial decree, the remainder of these Terms of Use will remain valid and enforceable according to its terms. Any failure by Bloodline plus to strictly enforce any provision of these Terms of Use will not operate as a waiver of that provision or any subsequent breach of that provision. The disclaimers and limitations of liability will survive any termination or expiration of these Terms of Use. It is expressly understood and agreed that in the event any remedy hereunder is determined to have failed its essential purpose, all limitations of liability and exclusions of damages will remain in effect.
Cookies. Bloodline plus may employ cookie technology to allow subscribers and users to move more quickly through our mobile application. Cookies are small text files a mobile application can use to recognise repeat users and facilitate the user's ongoing access to and use of the mobile application. Generally, cookies do not pose a threat to a user's files. Bloodline plus cannot control the use of cookies by advertisers or third parties hosting data for Bloodline plus.
External Links. Bloodline plus may contain links to other mobile applications or resources only for the convenience of the users. Bloodline plus is not responsible for the content of these external mobile applications, nor does Bloodline plus endorse, warrant or guarantee the products, services or information described or offered in those mobile applications. It is the responsibility of the user to examine the copyright and licensing restrictions of linked pages and to secure all necessary permission.
Limitation of Liability - Rotary Calcutta Mahanagar or Rotary Calcutta Mahanagar Trust cannot be held responsible for any accuracy of information or dispute, losses or harm arising out of or due to misuse of any information (Eg. Telephone numbers) provided on this mobile application and is not liable to pay any damages thereof. Rotary Calcutta Mahanagar or Rotary Calcutta Mahanagar Trust cannot be held responsible for any disputes, losses or harm caused to the Blood Seeker or blood recipient or blood donor or any third party interested in them that arises due to any interaction, act or omission of any nature whatsoever or howsoever by or between them. Interaction implies communication by any medium, actual blood donation or transfusion thereof. To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will Bloodline plus or its suppliers/licensors be liable to you or any third party for any direct, special, incidental, consequential, punitive, or indirect damages (whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise), which include, without limitation, damages for personal injury, lost profits, lost data and business interruption, arising out of the use of, or inability to use, the service, its content or products, or any of its third party content or products available or sold on or through the service, even if Bloodline plus has been advised of the possibility of such damages. The entire liability of Bloodline plus and its suppliers/licensors under these terms of use for all damages, losses, and causes of action (whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise) is zero.
We support your right to block any unwanted Internet activity, especially that of unscrupulous Mobile Applications. However, blocking cookies may disable certain features on the Mobile Application, and may make it impossible to purchase or use certain services available on the Mobile Application. Please note that it is possible to block cookie activity from certain Mobile Applications while permitting cookies from Mobile Applications you trust, like this Mobile Application.
At times we conduct on-line surveys to better understand the needs and profile of our visitors. When we conduct a survey, we will try (but are not obligated) to let you know how we will use the information at the time we collect information from you on the Internet. Bloodline plus access not for Commercial Use. Illegal agents from blood banks are strictly forbidden to access Bloodline plus for commercial gains or otherwise. Donating blood for money or any commercial gain is banned by the law in India. Blood Donors are requested to inform the seekers that they are donating voluntarily and no money should be given to any person or agent for the same. Bloodline plus organisation is not responsible for willingness/unwillingness to donate blood.
The Special Terms and Conditions shall be supplemental to the General Terms and Conditions and before reading this Special Terms and Conditions, it is mandatory to accept the General Terms and Conditions.
Definitions: Unless the context otherwise requires:-
“App” shall mean the Bloodline plus mobile application and include all updates thereof;
“Service Provider” or “Owner” shall mean Rotary Calcutta Mahanagar Trust, a Charitable Organization having its office at
145 Sarat Bose Road, Skyline House, Kolkata-700026, West Bengal, India and include its trustees, successors-in-office and assigns.
“Blood Donor” shall mean the individual who volunteers to register with the App to donate blood.
“Blood Seeker” shall mean the individual who volunteers to register with the App seeking blood in a bona fide manner for a genuine requirement of a patient who is either related to him or is known to him in a close manner.
It is mandatory to fill up accurate details of user of the App, patient, next of kin and other information as required in the App. Any adverse consequences of providing incorrect or wrong information shall be upon the person filling up the same or any connected person
Bloodline plus is a mobile application in the public domain and is accessible to any person with an internet connection. This App is aimed to act as a bridge to connect (a) the person needingblood for a patient in hospital/nursing home in emergency (via live donation) and (b) the live SOS donor registered in the Bloodline plus database willing to visit such hospital/nursing home. Once the connection is so made between the Blood Seeker and donor, the facility of this App ends except for feedbacks.Bloodline plus is not a blood bank and is not affiliated to any blood bank.
The whole connection is done via digital platform without intervention of any person and it is impossible for the App to (a) know about the genuinity of seeker or donor; or (b) the site of visit; or (c) the accuracy of medical needs (submitted in the App) as required by seeker or intended to be provided by the Blood Donor; or (d) ensure compliance either on the side of seeker or donor. Accordingly the services through this App neither assures nor guarantees any of the above
Due to the nature of its service, Bloodline plus requires to furnish the seeker with phone numbers and other contact details of the willing Blood Donors.
The App or its creator or its owner or its service provider do not take any responsibility or liability for any mishap, accident, death, injury, harm, insult, loss whether bodily or financially or emotionally or reputationally or any damages or claims of any nature whatsoever or howsoever by any user or beneficiary of the services from the App or any person claiming through them or their heirs, executors, administrators, legal representatives and/or assigns.
The App or services arising from it is completely free of cost and no amount is payable by seeker or any connected persons nor by the Blood Donor or any connected person to each other or to the service provider of this App or to any person whosoever on any account whatsoever or howsoever. All users, donors and beneficiaries of services from this App shall be deemed to know that there is no monetary transaction or gift in kind intended for them or any person connected with them.
Bloodline plus does not differentiate on the ground of religion, caste, creed or sex
In addition to the unconditional acceptance of the general terms and conditions, the Blood Seeker shall have and be deemed to have unconditionally agreed and undertaken the following:-
that blood is required for emergency purpose only and not on account of routine ailment and all other source of blood procurement have been unsuccessful;
that any willingness of any donor is purely voluntary and the Blood Donor may say NO to donation or refuse to turn up without being required to give any reason therefor.
that the Blood Seeker shall be responsible to ensure the safety of the Blood Donor ;
If there is anyone in need of blood, please do not seek blood from Bloodline plus without asking the hospital to contact other blood banks in the city and/or the other available sources.
The App does not claim that potential donors are free from any disease or bodily conditions that prevent them from donating blood at the time when they are contacted for blood donation. Bloodline plus does not guarantee that a potential donor will agree to donate blood whenever called upon to do so. It is entirely at the discretion of the individual whether or not to donate blood and to refuse the same at any time.
that the Blood Seeker shall ensure that there is no insult, injury, indecent behaviour, claim against the Blood Donor even if there is delay in coming, not coming, changing mind midway, hospital not accepting blood of such donor due to any reason;
to not disclose the phone number or other details of the Blood Donor to any person;
to not make any future claims against the Blood Donor due to any reason whatsoever or howsoever.
To immediately inform if blood requirement has been satisfied
To not pay any amount or otherwise or gift anything to the Blood Donor under any circumstances
To upload the follow up page in respect of any donation/failed donation.
To not claim any amount or losses or damages or costs or clams against Bloodline plus for anything arising by use of the App and to keep the service provider and owner of the App as well as the Blood Donor/intended donor of blood fully indemnified in respect of any loss, damage, cost, claim, demand, action or proceeding.
To comply with all formalities of requirements as stipulated in the App and also uploading of all documents required including patient related, hospital and hospitalization related, Hospital Requisition Slip for blood etc.,
Acknowledge and confirm that the data uploaded may be used by the App or Donor
Acknowledge and accept the terms and conditions applicable to Blood Donor. {Link to the same forms part of the General Terms and Conditions}
The Blood Donor is voluntarily registering in the App with intent to donate blood in time of need of patient which may arise.Bloodline plus urge you not to make false registrations/not to register if you do not seriously wish to donate blood. It could be a matter of life and death for those in need of blood in an emergency or otherwise.
The Blood Donor shall update any change in his medical history and blood donations otherwise made by him in the App before he accepts any invitation to donate blood. It shall be presumed that the particulars available in the database of the App is true and correct.
The Blood Donor shall be responsible for his medical condition pre, during and post blood donation and shall exercise care and discretion according to own health and shall be deemed to have taken sound medical advise before donating blood.
The time, patient or seeker details, place or manner of need of blood may arise in future and the same cannot be predicted or known in any manner in advance.
The Blood Donor while registering has not been induced by any person in any manner and has registered without any pressure, coercion, undue influence, cajoling or being promised or assured of any money or gift in kind or any form of recognition.
Since the entire App is based on digital platform and no human intervention, checking or verification of any nature is done by the App. The Blood Donor is seriously advised to verify the authenticity of request from independent sources before calling up or connecting with the Blood Seeker;
The Blood Donor shall understand carefully the needs and requirements of the Blood and the type of Blood and the patient and patient party details and the nature of emergency for donating blood and make its commitments upon being fully satisfied and only pursuant thereto and shall not be under any force, compulsion or obligation to do so under any circumstances;
The Blood Donor shall be careful in reaching and donating blood and shall exercise discretion in a careful manner and shall inform the hospital of medical condition affecting him. The Blood Donor shall be deemed to be satisfied by the facilities and procedure of hospital where the donation is done and shall exercise discretion carefully and shall be free to say no and refuse to donate blood at any stage;
The Blood Donor may say NO to blood donation without being required to give any reason therefor.
The Blood Donor shall ensure that there is no insult, injury, indecent behaviour, claim against the Blood Seeker due to any reason;
The Blood Donor shall not disclose the phone number or other details of the Blood Seeker or patient to any person;
The Blood Donor shall immediately update the App once the blood donation is done/not done.
The Blood Donor or any connected person shall not ask for any amount or gift in kind or privilege or favour or acknowledgment orotherwise from the Blood Seeker or family or any other person under any circumstances
To not claim any amount or losses or damages or costs or clams against Bloodline plus for anything arising by use of the App and to keep the service provider and owner of the App as well as the Blood Seeker or patient fully indemnified in respect of any loss, damage, cost, claim, demand, action or proceeding arising due to any act or omission of the Blood Donor.
To comply with all formalities of requirements as stipulated in the App and also filing up forms and carrying ID proof and other documents required by the Hospital and other formalities of the Hospital in donating blood and shall take all post donation precautions as advised or is required.
Acknowledge and confirm that the data uploaded may be used by the App or Donor
Acknowledge and accept the terms and conditions applicable to Blood Seeker. {Link to the same forms part of the General Terms and Conditions}
To abide by Conditions of Donation mentioned in para below.
General - No person shall donate blood and no blood bank shall draw blood from a person, more than once in three months. The Blood Donor shall be in good health, mentally alert and physically fit and shall not be inmates of jail, persons having multiple sex partners and drug-addicts. The Blood Donors shall fulfill all the medical requirements including :- i. The Blood Donor shall be in the age group of 18 to 55 years. ii. The Blood Donor shall not be less than 45 kilograms. iii. Temperature and Pulse of the Blood Donor shall be normal. iv. The systolic and diastolic blood pressures are within normal limits without medication. v. Haemoglobin which shall not be less than 12.5 grams. vi. The Blood Donor shall be free from acute respiratory diseases. vii. The Blood Donor shall be free from any skin diseases at the mobile application of phlebotomy. viii. The Blood Donor shall be free from any disease transmissible by blood transfusion, insofar as can be determined by history and examination indicated above. ix. The arms and forearms of the Blood Donor shall be free from skin punctures or scars indicative of professional blood donors or addiction of self injected narcotics.
Additional qualifications of a donor -No person shall donate blood, and no blood bank shall draw blood from a donor, in the conditions mentioned herein below before the expiry of the respective period of deferment:- i. Abortions 6 months ii. History of Blood transfusion 6 months iii. Surgery 12 months iv. Typhoid 12 months after recovery v. History of Malaria and duly treated 3 months (endemic) 3 years (non endemic area) vi. Tattoo 6 months vii. Breast feeding 12 months after delivery viii. Immunization (Cholera, Typhoid, Diphtheria, Tetanus, Plague, Gammaglobulin) 15 days ix. Rabies vaccination 1 year after vaccination x. History of Hepatitis in family or close contact 12 months xi. Immunoglobulin 12 months xii. Covid-19 - 28 days after they make a complete recovery from illness or are symptom-free and have more than the required level of antibodies against the COVID 19
Blood Donors Temporarily Unfit for Donation : i. Jaundice : Unfit for one year after full recovery. ii. Malaria : Unfit for one year after full treatment. iii. Typhoid : Unfit for one year after full treatment. iv. Surgical Operations : for one year after any major operations. v. Transfusion of blood or its products : for one year after receiving the transfusion. vi. Immunizations : usually for three Bloodlne+eks after vaccinations. vii. Pregnancy : Defer till one year after childbirth. viii. Drug ingestion : If on any medications, please inform the medical officer. ix. Cough, cold, fever : Please inform medical officer who will decide the period of defferal.
Conditions which make blood donors permanently unfit for donation : i. Severe allergic diseases ii. Diabetic patients iii. Myocardial infarction iv. Hypertension v. Active Tuberculosis vi. Renal diseases vii. Venereal (Sexually Transmitted) Diseases viii. Malignancy ix. Epilepsy x. Two or more vasovagal (fainting) attacks after blood donation xi. High risk individuals for HIV xii. Known carriers of Hepatitis B virus
No person shall donate blood and no blood bank shall draw blood from a person, suffering from any of the diseases mentioned below, namely .- i. Cancer ii. Heart disease iii. Abnormal bleeding tendencies iv. Unexplained Blood or weight loss v. Diabetes-controlled on Insulin vi. Hepatitis infection vii. Chronic nephritis viii. Signs and symptoms, suggestive of AIDS ix. Liver disease x. Tuberculosis xi. Polycythemia Vera xii. Asthma xiii. Epilepsy xiv. Leprosy xv. Schizophrenia xvi. Endocrine disorders
Pre - donation observe the following: i. Please have a good meal at least 3 hours before donating blood. ii. Please avoid smoking iii. You will not be eligible to donate blood if you have consumed alcohol 48 hours before donation
Post - donation observe the following: i. Please accept the snacks if offered to you after the donation, it is vital you have them. You are recommended to have a good meal later Eat light refreshment and rest for 10-15 mins ii. If you are a smoker, do not smoke for atleast an 3 hours iii. Avoid heavy exercise and exertion for 24 hours iv. Avoid alcohol for 24 hours v. Drink more than your usual intake of liquids during the 24 hours post donation
All the above conditions are indicative and the Blood Donor is required to verify and seek independent medical advise.
